Katarina Larsen co-author of JPI Urban Europe report
on Transnational cooperation and Smart Cities in practice, April 2020
The report is an analysis of a research program within the initiative Joint Programming Initiative Urban Europe (JPI Urban Europe), which is a knowledge hub supporting sustainable urban transitions. The report presents lessons learned from the research program called ERA-NET Cofund Smart Cities and Communities (ENSCC) and is based on review of project results and interviews with project participants. The call aimed to engage a variety of local stakeholders in new and innovative ways and emphasized a narrative of energy efficiency that included housing, industry, heating, transportation— and not least how energy affects and is affected by people.
The report is available online and presents experiences from the ERA-NET Cofund Smart Cities and Communities (ENSCC) call, which was the first major joint call opened by JPI Urban Europe and the Smart Cities Member States Initiative for transnational projects (2016-2019).

The contribution to the report by Katarina Larsen focuses on experiences from user perspectives on collaborative projects between university, research institutes and municipalities presented in sections 3.7 (Engagement of municipal authorities) and 3.8 (Developing user perspectives in multi-stakeholder partnerships) in addition to some go the concluding sections of the report. The analysis by Larsen is a result from the project "User perspectives on city development and sustainability challenges in urban city regions" supported by KTH and ABE-school to strengthen collaboration with strategic partners of KTH.
