The Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment will be leading the polar humanities training in the School of Excellence in Arctic and Antarctic Learning  (SEAL), the new national polar research education program funded by the Swedish Research Council. SEAL will be run by a consortium of five higher education institutions (Göteborg, Uppsala, Chalmers, KTH and Mittuniversitetet) with complementary expertise. It will be hosted at Göteborg University.

KTH’s coordinator in the process is Docent Kati Lindström , the Director of Doctoral studies for the history program. Our work will focus on polar geopolitics, environmental governance, and science diplomacy in both the Arctic and the Antarctic, as well as on the ethics of working with Arctic stakeholders.

The Division will also host one PhD student as part of this project - keep your eyes open for a call for applications early next year!
