A letter commenting an editorial about the waste crisis in Campania, Italy, has just been published in the current volume of Nature. In this letter , the director of the , Giacomo D’Alisa and Salvatore Paolo De Rosa argue for an understanding of the crisis which incorporates the social and the political, stressing the environmental injustice embodied in the exposition to contamination.
