Research interests
Engineered nonlinear optical materials, properties of nonlinear optical materials, structured laser and photonic materials, applications of nonlinear optics, polariton THz optics and waveguiding, application of photonic nanostructured materials and metasurfaces in mid-infrared and THz, high-power subnanosecond laser sources and frequency converters, novel laser and nonlinear materials, ultrashort pulse generation, laser sources for space applications, structured light.
Service to the scientific community
Director of KTH Laser Lab infrastructure. Coordinator of the LaserLab Sweden network. Member of the board of directors of the European Optical Society, served on the board of directors of the European Physical Society's Quantum Electronics and Optics Division. Served as topical editor for Journal of the Optical Society of America B, IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics, and Springer Nature Scientific Reports. Fellow of Optica. Member of the European Physical Society and the Swedish Optical Society. Served as General Chair of the Conference on Lasers and Electrooptics USA and Europe, Europhoton, Mid-infrared Coherent Sources.
