Travel to Kista campus

Getting to Kista from Arlanda

KTH campus Kista is located at the north part of Stockholm, and can be reached within 20 min by subway from the center of the city.

From the airport

The main airport in Stockholm is Stockholm Arlanda airport. The directions below describe how to get from Arlanda airport to Kista campus.

There are mainly two ways to get here from Arlanda airport. The cheapest is with the Airport Coaches, "Flygbussarna".

They leave every 20 mins from 5.00 until 23.10, and will take you to Kista Center, which is located in walking distance from the conference venue and hotels. A one-way ticket costs 139 SEK (119 SEK if bought online in advance), and the travel time from the airport to Kista is approximately 25 minutes.

!! There are several "Flygbussarna" routes. Please take a right one - going to "Brommaplan" !!

It is also possible to take a taxi directly at Arlanda airport. Be advised that the airport is located some distance from the city, making this the most expensive option. Should you choose to take a taxi, always ask for a fixed price, available from the major and recommended taxi companies (Taxi 020, Taxi Kurir, and Taxi Stockholm). The price is then around 500 SEK.

If your hotel choice will be in downtown (about 20 mins trip to Kista campus by the subway), you should first go to the City Terminal from Aralnda. In such a case, another option is available in addition to Flygbussarna or taxi - the airport train "Arlanda Express". This will take you to the Central station, where you can connect to public transport or take a taxi. The airport train is the fastest way to get into town, but is more expensive than the bus. A one-way ticket costs 260 SEK, and the travel time is approximately 20 minutes. If there is more than one person traveling there are usually promotional tickets available (family tickets, tickets for two people, etc.) so make sure to ask about these. The tickets are sold at the Airport information desk - buying tickets on the train carries a surcharge.

Of course, a taxi can also ride you to Stockhom city, with somewhat higher price in comparison to the Kista trip.

Public transport in the city

Public transport in Stockholm works quite well, and is often the best and easiest way to get around. The transport provider SL has recently changed to a completely electronic ticket system. Before you start your journey you need to buy a smart card and charge it with a number of trips. This can be done at the airport, any SL Center, "Pressbyrå" shops, or at the manual ticket booths when entering the subway. Have the card pre-set to journeys within one zone (all of central Stockholm is the same zone). The public transport system encompasses both buses and underground, as well as commuter trains.

The easiest way to getting around within Stockholm is by public transportation. Several bus lines as well as the metro ('T-bana') have stops within walking distance.

By metro

The closest underground station is "Kista", on the blue line towards "Akalla".
