Introduction

A short introduction to the fundamentals of functional programming. This is not an introduction to Erlang but to the concepts of functional programming that is common for all languages in the family: Haskell, Scala, F#, Lisp, Ocaml etc. If you know the fundamental principles you can easily pick up any language.

After the lecture

  • Make sure that you have a running Erlang system installed on your computer.
  • Decide which editor or IDE that you want to use and learn how to compile and run small examples.
  • Gain access to the online lectures from Erlang Solutions. 
    • Look at the first lecture "Introduction to Erlang"
  • Sign up for one of the groups in Daisy
  • Take a look at the slides for the next lecture.
