Undergraduate studies at KTH School of technology and health are organised in study programmes. Swedish is the main language of instruction, and knowledge in Swedish, as well as in English, is generally required in order to be admitted to a program. The courses are carried out with a mixture of lectures, seminars, laboratory work, and individual studies. Hands-on experience is regarded as an important element of learning, and therefore laboratory sessions are essential in most of the courses.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

We offer Bachelor of Science in Engineering programmes in Applied Engineering, and they encompass three years of studies. These programmes, which are mainly taught in Swedish, lead to a "Högskoleingenjörsexamen" 120 credits. It translates into English as Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering 180 ECTS. The programmes contain courses in various subjects in science, technology, and engineering. In order to make the students well prepared for their careers the programmes also containe a number of non-technical courses.

Master's programmes taught in English

School of technology and health also offer a number of Master's programmes. Five of these are entirely taught in English. Our Master's programmes lead to a "Magister examen" 60 or 120 ECTS, which means that they nominally take 1 or 2 years to complete. The English translation of the exam is Degree of Master of (the specialisation) 60 or 90 ECTS. A completed Bachelors Degree or equivalent is required for being accepted to the programmes.
