Registering student theses
According to a decision by the university director from 2017-06-13 Decision by the university director (pdf 52 kB) and a additional decision by the university director (pdf 62 kB) from 2018-12-12 states that all approved student theses should be registered in the KTH publication database DiVA.
Uses for student theses in DiVA
- Visibility. Theses in DiVA can be searched not only through DiVA’s own search interface, but also in Uppsök, the national search portal for student theses from Swedish universities, as well as search engines such as Google and Google Scholar.
- Availability. KTH’s student theses are made available in DiVA. The KTH Library does not accept printed student theses.
- Resource for students writing theses. Student theses from 2011 and onward can be found in DiVA. Thereby, students about to begin writing a thesis can see what has been written at their department previously.
Who registers and publishes?
- Local DiVA administrator: All schools/departments have one or more DiVA administrators. These review and publish theses before they become visible in DiVA. See more details in manual (pdf 345 kB) (in Swedish).
Registering step by step
1 The thesis must be approved and provided with a cover when registering. (See instructions for graphic profile ).

A paper copy of the thesis must be archived according to the schools routines.
