ROCIT is a new graduate school in collaboration between eight higher education institutions.

Research school ROCIT

The goal of ROCIT (Research on collaboration in teacher education) is to support future teacher education in collaboration with schools and teachers, and to develop a greater understanding between experience-based knowledge and science-based knowledge within the school world.

Aim

The aim is to create nine research projects that will bridge the gap for those who are currently educating teacher students, but also in the longer term connect teachers throughout their careers with teacher education.

ULF

The graduate school is based on the government's experimental activities ULF  - Education Learning Research whose purpose is to develop models for long-term and sustainable structures for collaboration between municipalities and higher education institutions in and through teacher education. Therefore, the schools also play an important role in the project, and school principals are included in the project's steering group.

The graduate school shall also examine teachers' work situation and organizational conditions for professional development, learning and research.

The graduate school will have room for nine doctoral students – studying teaching who may specialize in the field between experience-based and scientific knowledge.
