Organisation

The KTH Space Centre forms part of the School of Engineering Sciences at KTH, while for administrative purposes it comes under the Department of Physics.

Steering group

The Space Centre has a steering group comprising a chairman plus three to five other members. One of the other members shall be from KTH, but a majority shall be external, amongst them the chairperson. The steering group decides on the Centre’s operational plan and budget, following a proposal from the director. The group is appointed by the President of KTH. The members are elected for three years and can be elected for a maximum of two periods. Normally, the steering group has four meetings per year.

The current board, starting in January 2024, consist of Lars Eliasson (chairman), Cecilia Kozma (KTH), Fredrik Lundell (KTH), Nils Pokrupa (OHB Sweden), Alexis Brandeker (SU) and Ella Carlsson (Swedish Air Force), to 31-12-2025.

Director

The Center is led by a Director appointed by the President. The appointed director is Christer Fuglesang and Carl-Mikael Zetterling is the appointed deputy director. Max Persson is the director for the Space Technology lab and Cecilia Kozma is the director for ESERO Sweden.

Reference group

The reference group is an advisory and support group to the Space Centre Director, chosen by the Director amongst KTH personnel having activities within the space field. Meetings are held once a month.

The reference group’s composition in December 2023: Mohammad Bagherbandi (geodesy), Yifang Ban (remote sensing), Ola Eiken (environmental physiology), Jens Fridh (Heat and Power Technolog), Stefania Giacomello (gene technology), Sergei Glavatskih (system- and component design), Nikolay Ivchenko (space and plasma physics), Göran Marklund (space and plasma physics), Hans Berg (environmental physiology), Soléne Frapard (gene technology) Valdas Pasiskevicius (applied physics), Mark Pearce (astroparticle physics), Gunnar Tibert (Space technology), Sven Grahn (MIST) and Carl-Mikael Zetterling (electronics).

Outreach

A group of 1-2 students that manages the KTH Space Centre's PR and social media. The students are since september 2021 Ceona Lindstein and Julia Adler.

Administration

Administration is handled by Sefora Deb at the Physics Administration at the School of Engineering Sciences.
