What made you choose KTH?

Since the first years of my bachelor's degree, I had dreamt of living in Scandinavia and specifically Sweden. The environment and culture are so different from what I had known so far, and it seemed both fascinating and challenging. After setting a goal as far as the location, I started looking into career prospects here, and I was not disappointed.

Coming from a pure math background, I wanted to study something a bit more technical that would allow me to pursue a more hands-on career. KTH's reputation precedes it both in academia, organisation, and social life. I talked to students living in Stockholm and studying at KTH who had only good things to say about their life in the city. The COSSE programme was the perfect combination and the fact that it offers a double degree seemed ideal.

What do you like most about KTH?

I was very happy to find that KTH exceeded my expectations in a lot of aspects. The organisation is impeccable, which made settling into Stockholm very stress free and exciting. KTH is a university that respects itself and its students, facilitating our studies and supporting us along the way. I am also impressed by the number of activities available to the students and the impact that the student union has.

What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?

My good impressions of the university also extend to the city. Everyday life in Stockholm is almost too easy. Things are straightforward and run mostly smoothly; people are very willing to help and language is never a barrier. You can also easily and safely walk or bike around the city.

It also helps that the city itself is absolutely beautiful with well-maintained buildings, charming hidden streets, and lots of green space.

What is your best memory from your time at KTH so far?

Even though I have only been here for a few weeks, I have made great memories and met many people, especially during the welcome week for international students. But I am excited to join more clubs and activities and make the most of my time here.

Are there any differences between studying at KTH and your home university?

I have studied in two other universities so far, in the UK and Germany. All three experiences were very unique and interesting, but I think KTH is the most all around well-organised place. There are many similarities on an academic level, but it is the first time I am living on campus, and it is a very nice experience up to now.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

I would say that if they choose KTH they will not regret it. Do your research, and as long as you do something you like, KTH will only make your experience better and offer great prospects for the future.
