Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?

I previously worked in a startup where I was part of the Research and Development team as a Design & Development Engineer. It motivated me to pursue a master's in product development, and strategizing products was really exciting and close to my passion. On the other hand, I wanted to focus on my area of expertise, which is mechanical design and this course acted as a bridge between management and design. It is purely a fusion of product development with a technology and design perspective. And considering the fact that KTH has a high reputation for innovation and research which inspired me to take up this course.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

The programme is a concoction of idea creation, product & service development, and value creation from a strategic perspective at an industrial level which helps us to understand and formulate business models & innovation processes. Most of the assignments and projects are focused on the consumer's feedback to train us on how important is it to consider consumer needs while in the design and development process. The interdisciplinary group of students working on the project produce good innovative ideas, and the KTH allows the students to speak for themselves.

Have you chosen a specialization track within the programme?

I have chosen the track Innovation Management and Product Development within my programme since I have always aspired to be a product owner or manager responsible for the roadmap of one particular product and make it successful. This track has been offering me multiple subjects that support my passion, especially subjects like Product Innovation, Modularization of Products, and Systems Engineering.

How is student life in Stockholm?

I would say Stockholm is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, especially during the summer. I have been here in Stockholm for almost a year, and I am still excited about the student life here. There are plenty of activities, events, and parties that give equal importance to academics and your social life. I would also say the students are really diverse and you get to live in the student housing such as Lappis which is the best place to meet new people from different cultures. The student life in Stockholm has not only added value from an academic perspective but also given good exposure to several cultures and people.
