Innovation Driven Research Education

Since 1996, our researchers at the Division for Neuronic Engineering have gained unique experience from the cross-scientific collaboration on how to solve a medical problem by developing a technical innovation for clinical application.

Together, the researchers have worked out a new concept for what an innovation driven research education for clinical application can look like.

The innovation as a solution to a medical problem is developed in parallel with academic research and in collaboration between different skills.

The goal is to be able to present the technical innovation and the patent for a continued entrepreneurship together with the academic dissertation.

Innovation Driven Research Education

The researchers at the Division for Neuronic Engineering are the first to launch this idea of education for researchers and have therefore also taken initiative to a series of books in the field of Innovation Driven Research Education.

So far, one book has been published in 2010, another one is planned for publication in the autumn of 2011, and a third book is planned for 2012.

The aim of the book series is to give other researchers with specialisation in future health care recommended support in their research, and information on how a medical problem can result in firstly a dissertation and secondly a technical innovation for future health care.
