Division of Biomedical Proteomics
At the Division of Biomedical Proteomics, we apply cutting edge technologies to study proteins - the building blocks of life. Our research is highly interdisciplinary, bridging human biology, technology development, and clinical applications.
Our teams investigate the proteome at multiple levels, including body fluids, single cells, and sub‑cellular structures. Together, we explore biological systems using both experimental and data‑driven approaches.
Using advanced technologies, our research spans a broad range of areas, including:
-
Oncology, cardiovascular, metabolic and neurological disorders
-
The immune system and infectious diseases
-
Biomarkers in body fluids
-
Cell and spatial biology
Through these efforts, we aim to deepen our understanding of biological mechanisms and uncover new analytical opportunities for diagnosing, monitoring, and treating human diseases.
The Division of Biomedical Proteomics, affiliated with the Department of Protein Science and located at SciLifeLab (KTH Campus Solna), was formed January 2026 as a merge of the Division of Affinity Proteomics and the Division of Cellular and Clinical Proteomics.
The research and education are based on the combined activities in the labs of:
SciLifeLab infrastructure units:
Affinity Proteomics Stockholm (Head of Unit: Claudia Fredolini )
Spatial Proteomics (Head of Unit: Charlotte Stadler )
