A. Lundberg Lab
The A.Lundberg Lab is dedicated to advancing precision medicine and diagnostics through a comprehensive investigation of the tumor microbiome's impact on cancer progression and treatment.

The A.Lundberg Lab, led by Assistant Professor Arian Lundberg (PhD, MSc, BS), a Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) fellow, investigates the intricate interplay between the host microbiome and inflammation. Our goal is to uncover how this relationship impacts cancer progression and treatment.
Dr. Lundberg’s expertise in multi-omics cancer biomarker development, precision medicine, and translational research drives our focus. We examine the influence of the tumor microbiome on cancer progression and inflammation at the multi-omics level. Our aim is to determine whether the tumor microbiome is a broader feature of the tumor microenvironment associated with cancer progression and to develop and optimize prediction models for precision medicine.
The A.Lundberg Lab has launched one of the largest national and international efforts to study the tumor microbiome, utilizing extensive Swedish and global clinical cohorts. Our objective is to establish a robust, adaptable, and expandable pipeline that can be applied broadly, including in Pan-Cancer studies, to advance our understanding of intervention and preventive therapies.
