New research collaboration at ESC

Published Jan 26, 2018

A thriving partnership relies on extensive research and faculty exchange across a broad spectrum of areas of the arts, engineering, and sciences.

BioEnergy

KTH Assistant Prof Dilip Khatiwada, Energy and Climate Studies spent a research period in 2017 at the UI Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics, Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Environment together with UI Distinguished Professor Madhu Khanna. The collaboration focused on a dynamic fuel and food economic model for policy analysis. The model considers the optimization of social welfare and environmental aspects of policies related to bioenergy feedstock/crops, biofuel, and food production in different policy scenarios such as blend mandates, fuel subsidies, prices/tariffs, and carbon tax.
