Processing of personal data in the recruitment process

It is important that you feel confident about how we process the personal data you provide us when you apply for a position at KTH. Below we describe how and in what way we process your personal data within recruitment at KTH.

When you apply for a position at KTH, you consent to us processing your personal data in accordance with applicable legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation.

  1. Data controller
    KTH (org. nr 202100-3054-01) is the data controller for the personal data you choose to register when you apply for a position at KTH and is thereby responsible that your personal data is processed in accordance to applicable data protection legislation.
  2. What personal data is processed?
    We process the personal data that you submit during the recruitment process. The data is processed and stored in KTH’s recruitment system. We may also ask for additional information, such as references.
  3. Who has access to your personal data?
    KTH is a government agency and your application constitutes a public document according to the principle of public access to official documents. Everyone who requests these documents can therefore see your personal information, unless confidentially, according to the principle of public access to official documents, prevents this. If you have protected identity, you should contact KTH at, alternatively call 08-790 70 80/790 70 74, during office hours, 8:30-16:30. When you submit your application to KTH, your personal data is registered in our recruitment system. Thereby, your personal data is searchable by employees whom work with recruitment at KTH. Your personal data is processed specifically for the position you have applied to. Specific manual processing of your personal data may occur during the process.
  4. Storage of your personal data
    Your personal data will be saved in KTH’s recruitment system for 30 months after the decision about employment has been made. Exceptions can be made if there is a legal reason to save the data longer, for example if there is an ongoing legal process.

    The personal data and information for the person who will be employed, appointed as affiliated faculty and affiliated professor or has been admitted as docent, is saved in accordance with the Swedish National Archives’ rules and KTH’s internal disposal decisions.
  5. Your rights
    As per article 15 in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) you have the right to correct your personal data and gain access to the personal data being processed on you.
