Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?
My passion for sustainable energy and innovative technology led me to pursue the EIT InnoEnergy master's at KTH. Having worked on renewable energy projects, I was eager to immerse myself in a programme that blends cutting-edge research with practical applications. Besides, the chance to experience two leading universities offers a dynamic learning environment that few programmes can match. Travelling across Europe while collaborating with future energy leaders and experts makes this more than just an academic experience—it’s a transformative journey that will equip me with the skills, insights, and networks to drive meaningful change in the energy sector.
What are the best aspects of your programme?
The blend of theory and hands-on experience stands out. Here, we don’t just learn concepts; we apply them in real-world projects, working alongside researchers and industry professionals. The opportunity to be involved in projects that tackle energy sustainability resonates with my entrepreneurial spirit and my background in creating practical solutions. KTH also cultivates a diverse environment where I interact with students from various cultural and professional backgrounds, which broadens my perspectives and enhances collaborative problem-solving.
How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?
KTH's focus on innovation and interdisciplinary work was a refreshing shift from my earlier experiences. During my bachelor's, the emphasis was on mastering the fundamentals of electrical engineering. At KTH, the approach is much more holistic, combining technical rigour with entrepreneurial thinking and sustainability principles. The coursework is demanding, but it offers the freedom to pursue your ideas, something that's less structured compared to my previous academic environments. The close connection between academia and industry also ensures that our learning has immediate, practical implications.

The student community is vibrant, with a great mix of international and local students. You'll never feel alone here; the welcoming and supportive atmosphere makes it easy to form lasting friendships. Even winter, with its dark days, feels cosy when you share it with people on a similar journey.
