Project information

This project is connected to our SSF project "Biomedical functional polymers" where we synthesize new degradable polymers. In the project we are devoted to the design and development of functional and nanostructured surfaces of polymers intended for biomedical applications, typically cell and tissue engineering. The surface of polymers is modified by many different techniques such as grafting, immobilization of biomolecules, attachment of specific functional groups, or nanopatterning. These surface modifications may have an important effect on the biological response, e.g. serve as a guide for cell adhesion and proliferation and/or enhance the biocompatibility.
