Envisioning the Future at Haru Fest 2024 in Tokyo

Published May 10, 2024

Exploring how design and interaction shape the identity of social robots at an international gathering of researchers and practitioners in Tokyo

We were honored to participate in Haru Fest 2024 "Envisioning the Future—from Communication to Mediation and Relational Robots", held May 8–10 at Harajuku Hall in Tokyo. Hosted by Honda Research Institute of Japan and partners from the Socially Intelligent Robotics Consortium, the event brought together global experts in design, technology, and interaction to reimagine the role of robots in facilitating meaningful social connection.

As part of the program, our lab contributed to the panel on “Design and Branding from Hardware to Interaction”, where Georgios Andrikopoulos discussed with Patricia Alves Oliveira from University of Michigan and Paulo Alvito from IDMind how design choices shape both the identity and usability of robotic platforms.
