TUTORIAL NO. 7

As we approach the end of the course, the number of submittals will decrease in favour of the last two points (3 and 4 in this tutorial). Focus in PRO2 is on design development and you should already have a load of design sketches. If you feel unsure of what needs to be produced, please ask. Grades in PRO2 will be based on how/ that the design has been developed. Absence of design sketches in Tutorial 6 and 7 will result in F in PRO2. Tutorial 7 is your last chance to show design sketches as Tutorial 8 will be based on the presentation techniques.

1. Adjustments and fine tuning of all material in order to achieve full project alignment, from scenario, analysis, idea, design, through target group, differentiation strategy, graphic design, etc.

PRO2 is an alignment; a verbal and visual (images, diagrams, film, graphic design, etc.) explanation of the material that you have produced during Tutorial 1-8 (the whole course). Make sure that your material follows a red thread. Kill your darlings if necessary. Identify the missing parts and complement with what is necessary to make your project cohesive. Your presentation should be easy to follow. As advocates for your project, you should have enough structured “evidence” to convince the audience. You will find further detail about PRO2 here. The schedule for the review is at the bottom of the Course PM.

2. A presentation concept and sketch for PRO2

Prezi is a great presentation tool that you could use in PRO2. Another one is Keynote. You are free to choose any presentation program. Also consider sound, moving image, physical models, etc.

3. Any revisions or complementary material that has been discussed with your tutor

Every group's project is different and therefore your tutor will give you specific tasks to complete for the next tutorial.

4. Further development of future scenario, concept and design

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR DESIGN SKETCHES SHOULD BE PRESENTED ON TUTORIAL 7! PRODUCTION AND QUANTITY ARE IN FOCUS. DON'T BE TOO CRITICAL AT THIS STAGE. MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH THE DESIGN LIMITS. PRINT OUT ALL YOUR MATERIAL AND PIN-UP ON WALL.

The scenario, concept and design should develop continuously through the course. Don't forget to document when and what forces, methods, tools, etc. that drive the development in new directions, giving your project new shapes in both 2D and 3D. What is most important is that the development of scenario, concept and design does not stagnate. Open your senses and dare to test and push your design and ideas beyond the known limits until the last day of the course!
