THE OPERATION OF THIS COURSE HAS MIGRATED FROM KTH SOCIAL TO THE KTH CANVAS SYSTEM WITH THE COURSE ROUND IN 2016. ONLY GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON KTH SOCIAL. ONLY THE COURSE DEVELOPMENT SECTION OF THESE KTH SOCIAL PAGES IS UPDATED YEARLY.
Next course round: The course is given every year in Period 2, which typically is from November to January.
PLEASE NOTE: The course has a limited number of participants (25 MSc). In recent years, the course has frequently been oversubscribed. Thus, If you are interested in taking the course, you need to sign up early. If the course is already full, please contact the course responsible for a place on the waiting list (first come, first serve base), and show up at the first lecture as it might be possible to grab a slot of registered people not showing up.

The course is designed as a project course for students who would like to get a "hands-on" experience in the world of nano and microelectromachnical systems (NEMS/MEMS). The students will be guided through a complete microsystem engineering cycle by designing, fabricating, and evaluating their own microdevice concepts. The students will learn to use state-of-the art microsystem engineering tools, including finite-element modeling (FEM), CAD layouting, and clean-room microfabrication machines.
The course experiences excellent feedback from the students. An average of 49.6% of the students during the last 5 years (2014-2018) consider the course among the top 10% of KTH courses, and 92.2% consider it among the top 25% of KTH's courses. Furthermore, an average of 98.4% of the students during the last 5 years (2014-2018) would take the course again.
