Forum at KTH focuses on growth, innovation

Published Mar 18, 2014

Europe faces profound socio-economic, demographic, environmental and technological challenges, and higher education has a key role to play in meeting them. That role will be the focus of a two-day European Commission conference at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

KTH will host the European Commission forum, PISI 2014 (Partnerships for Innovation and Socio-Economic Impact: the Entrepreneurial University) on March 19 and 20. The University-Business Thematic Forum will explore how cross-sector and international partnerships can contribute to the development of innovation and strengthen economic growth in Europe.

Delegates begin arriving in Stockholm March 18 for a reception at Stockholm City Hall, followed by the two-day forum, which was organised by the European Commission in partnership with KTH.

“This conference should be of strong interest across the public, business and educational sectors,” says KTH President Peter Gudmundson. “KTH is proud to host the event and to welcome our esteemed guests.”

The conference opens at 8 a.m. March 19 with a day of panel discussions and keynote presentations.

Panel discussions include integrating sustainability into curricula and the development of successful knowledge clusters.

KTH will host a live blog throughout the event, featuring videos and brief entries to provide followers with a sample of the ideas and discussion points brought forth at PISI 2014.
