KTH tops the job and salary league

Published Mar 25, 2010

Educations at KTH hold seven places in the top 10 list for best starting salaries for students. This information has come from the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise’s annual survey Högskolebarometer (University barometer).

Each year the Confederation maps out how things have gone for university and university college graduates in 40 main areas.

The survey, among other things, shows how quickly they have found work, to what extent they have managed to obtain qualified work, what their salaries following graduation are and the consequences of cooperation or lack of cooperation between the universities and trade and industry and how this affects the possibilities of finding work following graduation.

Economists at the Swedish School of Economics in Stockholm are in first place, but after that, KTH dominates the list. This is a list of the 10 highest placements:

  1. The Swedish School of Economics in Stockholm. Business Administration (Business and economics), SEK 30,000
  2. KTH: Industrial Management, SEK 27,500
  3. KTH: Electrical engineering (Master’s programme Electric Power Engineering), SEK 27,400
  4. KTH: Electrical engineering (Graduate engineer in electrical engineering), SEK 27,400
  5. KTH: Computer science (Certified engineer in computer science), SEK 27,400
  6. KTH: Computer science, SEK 27,400
  7. KTH: Computer science (Software Engineering of Distributed Systems) SEK 27,400

  9. Lund’s University of Technology: Mechanical engineering, SEK 26,000

In addition, 95% of all students - in most of the KTH courses 100% - at the top of the salary list, found work within six months from graduation.
