KTH will review proposed collaboration with CAE
A report airing tonight on Sweden’s SVT criticizes KTH Royal Institute of Technology for its actions relating to a proposed cooperation with China’s research institute CAE (Chinese Aeronautical Establishment). KTH will review the proposed cooperation and will address any questions. No agreement has been signed, and no actual cooperation has begun.
KTH President Peter Gudmundson says: “We have partnerships with countries around the world, and there is nothing out of the ordinary. But of course we will examine this thoroughly, to see if there is any new information, before we go any further with it. Should any doubts arise, KTH intends to terminate the dialogue regarding the possibility of a cooperation with CAE.”
The discussions between KTH and CAE have been about a collaboration on basic research in the area of flow mechanical modeling.
“Openness and transparency are cornerstones of our work, which means we will turn over every stone to examine this matter not only in terms of the formal management and cooperation, but the ethical considerations as well.”
