Swedish-Indian cooperation for sustainable development

Published Feb 29, 2008

INSTEC, a Swedish-Indian network for cooperation within research and education in engineering and technology will be organising workshops at various locations in India during the spring. The aim is to construct a platform for cooperation between the two countries’ industries and universities within sustainable urban development.

INSTEC is represented in Sweden by KTH and seven other universities and university colleges. Business and industry are also members of this network which is supported by Vinnova and the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency, Sida.

In preparation for the seminars in India in the first week of April, the organisers are looking for cooperation with more departments, researchers and teachers at KTH and at other universities in order to develop cooperation with Indian universities and industries. The seminars will be held in three Indian cities and will touch on several aspects of sustainable urban development such as energy, transport, water supply, waste water and waste management.
