In this case when we say "Assessing Learning", we actually mean "Assessing the Department of Learning".

KTH is going through a self-organised evaluation of research, called Research Assessment Exercise, RAE. (More information about the process, in Swedish and in English.)

• During the spring, departments make a written self-evaluation
• External reviewer panels visit KTH (remotely) during 23-27 August. 

The Department of Learning in Engineering Sciences belongs to Panel 7, together with four other ITM departments. A final draft of the self-evaluation can be found here.

At the seminar, we will discuss the report and the department as a research environment.

We will use the whole hour for discussions so there is no presentation of the report in the seminar. Therefore, please read the report in advance. The pages about our department are pp. 65-82 and our two impact cases are found on pp. 110-112.

Some questions to reflect on:

• What impression(s) does the apartment make in this description?
• What is it that we say and what is it that we don't say?
• How could we improve as a research environment?
• What do we want to be able to say in the next RAE, probably in six years time?
• What are the first steps we can take now?

It will actually still be possible to make changes, so suggestions for improvements are welcome (without increasing the page count).
