Kick-off for the KTH centre NAVET
On a cold Tuesday evening in January, a new centre formation was opened at KTH - where KTH collaborates with KMH Royal College of Music, SKH Stockholm University of the Arts and Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. The focus of the centre is the meeting between art, technology, and design.
For a long time, there have been wishes among researchers to find forms for collaboration between the artistic colleges in Stockholm and KTH. The aim of this has been to make KTH a place where everyone can meet, discuss and collaborate.
The idea of the centre formation is, according to Roberto Bresin, professor of media technology at KTH and director of the Navet, to let different worlds meet. It will allow culture, art and technology to work together in cross-disciplinary projects. Historically, there are many examples of successful innovations through this approach.
On Tuesday, 21 January, 2020, a kick-off was held for the new centre formation at the Open Lab's premises at KTH. A number of sound and visual research projects that have already started were presented, such as "Fictious Soundscapes" and "Utrumque".
