KTH research infrastructures

KTH's established research infrastructures are strategic and have a long-term plan for organisation, quality assessment, funding, and societal impact. They are accessible to many users and are used frequently.

Affinity Proteomics

The Unit of Affinity Proteomics supports researchers and clinicians in the fields of translational and personalized medicine. We offer expertise in protein analysis of human body fluids, cell supernatant and cell lysates, applying cutting edge affinity technology for sensitive quantification and multiplexed protein profiling. We develop immunoassays fitting specific research needs.

There is a fee to use the infrastructure, which is calculated to cover the entire or parts of the infrastructure's costs. The fee varies depending on whether the user is a government agency or a private company. If there is a queue, the unit makes prioritising decisions.

Autoimmunity and Serology Profiling

The Autoimmunity and serology profiling unit provides infrastructure and technologies for analysis of the autoantibody repertoire in body fluids and antibody validation using custom-designed protein and peptide arrays. We offer proteome-wide screening for autoantibody reactivity on large microarrays and downstream solutions for investigating autoantibody repertoires in hundreds of patient samples in parallel.

There is a fee to use the infrastructure, which is calculated to cover the entire or parts of the infrastructure's costs. The fee varies depending on whether the user is a government agency or a private company. If there is a queue, the unit makes prioritising decisions.

Clinical Genomics Stockholm

The Clinical Genomics Stockholm unit is a research infrastructure at Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) for large-scale, genomics-based analyses using next-generation sequencing technologies. The unit assists in translational research projects, in the translation of genomics-based tools to routine clinical care, and aims to improve the capability for national microbial surveillance and pandemic preparedness.

There is a fee to use the infrastructure, which is calculated to cover the entire or parts of the infrastructure's costs. The analysis fees vary depending on whether the user is a government agency, in healthcare, or a private company. A committee makes prioritising decisions following a technical feasibility assessment, after which samples are processed according to the reception date.

Electrum Laboratory

This research infrastructure has a cleanroom of 1,300 square meters and other facilities for nano and microfabrication, which are available for education, research and development, prototyping, and production. The laboratory is operated by KTH and RISE, and it is a component of the national research infrastructure MyFab.

There is a fee to use the infrastructure, which is calculated to cover the entire or parts of the infrastructure’s costs. The fee varies depending on whether the user is a Swedish University or a private company. When access is limited, a strict queue system is applied.
