Optical microscopy

Microscopes with high precision optical lenses for studying surfaces in extreme detail.

Researcher and microscope

In optical microscopes a system of optical lenses for the visible spectrum of the light is used to generate the needed magnification of the object’s surface of interest. It allows the determination of surface structures but also microstructures such as grain size and phases after applying specific surface preparation treatments.
