Homework

Solving homework problems is an important practice and can improve your grade. It is therefore especially important that your work is:

  • legible
  • written in an understandable way with full sentences and complete arguments
  • original, i.e. not copied or paraphrased from another source
  • handed in on time.

You can turn in your homework at the beginning of class, or place it in the homework box at the math department, or email it to Mats (first part). Scan are fine, photographed pages are usually not. The situation is more restrictive in the second part: Only .pdf documents are read. You can email them to Roy (second part)

We will return your homework to you in one of the following lectures; it is smart to read our comments and understand your mistakes.

Do not forget to write your name on your homework even if you email it.

Homework 6: The p in a Sylow p-subgroup is a prime, right? In that case should it really be "for all p dividing 2n" in the first problem?

Lärare kommenterade 10 december 2015

Yes, it should be for all primes p dividing 2n.

Thank you! I think I understand the question now, after rereading some definitions.
