Takahito Shimada

Takahito Shimada is a managing social scientist of Crime Prevention Section, Department of Criminology and Behavioral Sciences at National Research Institute of Police Science of Japan. His research interests involve studies on crime prevention, risk communication, environmental criminology, and problem-solving policing. He received his Ph.D in Human Sciences from Osaka University, Japan, as well as a Master of Science in Public Policy & Management (MSPPM) from Carnegie Mellon University, supported by the Fulbright Scholarship. 

Ai Suzuki

Ai Suzuki received her Ph.D. in Security and Crime Science from University College London, England. Her research interests involve studies on community and crime, victimisation, fear of crime, and policing. Recently, she has conducted research on the patterns and predictors of crime and fear of crime in Japan.
