KTH has Sweden's most popular programs

Of all first-choice applicants to engineering programs in Sweden, 28.8 percent apply to KTH. This makes KTH the most popular university in Sweden by a wide margin.
This year's Swedish application figures for universities and colleges show that interest in engineering programs remains stable. The fact that almost a third of all first-choice applicants want to study at KTH is impressive and feels good, according to KTH's President Anders Söderholm.
“This is proof that we have the most sought-after education for future engineers and it shows that KTH is the foremost technical university in Sweden,” Anders Söderholm says.
Big increase
More than 4,700 people have chosen engineering at KTH as their first choice, which is 18 percent more than two years ago. The most popular program is Industrial Engineering and Management, which 1046 people applied for in the first place. This was followed by Architecture (586), Computer Engineering (547) and Engineering Physics (534).
Compared to other leading universities, KTH has a big lead when it comes to popular engineering programs. Lund University comes in second place, with 21% applying here in the first place. Chalmers University of Technology had 16.4% of first-choice applications and Linköping University had 11.1%.
“We are maintaining our position and showing that it is still attractive to apply to us and difficult to get in,” Anders Söderholm says.
