KTH strengthens collaboration with university in Hong Kong

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and KTH have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to confirm their strategic collaboration.
Representatives from HKUST – one of KTH’s six official partner universities – visited KTH last week to discuss joint activities. Nancy Ip, President of HKUST and Anders Söderholm, President of KTH, signed a MoU on 12 September.
“I would like to confirm and commit to our cooperation and reemphasize the value we see in the partnership with HKUST. Through all the activities we are doing together, we want to make the world a better place,” Anders Söderholm said.
KTH and HKUST have had an extensive student exchange programme for a long time, that has now been expanded to 35 students in each direction per year. The two universities have seed funding for research projects, provide joint supervision of doctoral students, and are now working on dual degree master's programmes in physics and biotechnology.
“For HKUST, KTH has always been a very important strategic partner and I want to express our commitment to fostering this partnership. It will be very important to identify key areas for our further collaboration, within for example engineering and life science,” Nancy Ip said.
