CPSE-Labs

CPSE-Labs ( www.cpse-labs.eu/) is an EU-funded network of Cyber-Physical Systems design centres that links together a consortium of nine partners, all with world-class expertise in CPS engineering: KTH, fortiss, ONERA, LAAS-CNRS, Newcastle University, OFFIS, Indra Sistemas, Technical University of Madrid and Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum.

Who we are

The CPSE-Labs Design Centre, Sweden   is hosted by the Department of Machine Design at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Our core activities are driven by three main partners at the Department:

  • The   (ICES), which has around 25 industrial partners and is strongly connected to innovation, research and educational initiatives in the Stockholm region.
  • The , with their focus on new possibilities and freedom in design of flexible, innovative, intelligent and user friendly products, machines and systems. Active research fields include model-based engineering methodology, integrated development environments, safety, architectures for autonomous systems and simulation.
  • The , with their focus on organizational and technical processes for the efficient and effective development of innovative technology oriented products, services and systems. Research covers key factors for competitive and innovative processes in industry in terms of utilisation of tools and procedures, organizational co-operation and parallel processes as well as interdisciplinary team work.

What we do

  • Lead the Design Centres' Work-Package, which involves strengthening regional innovation networks, leveraging opportunities for innovation, and exchanging best practice among the CPSE Labs centres.
  • Specialise in autonomous and connected machines that build upon the KTH Integrated Transport Research Lab  vehicle platform (modular electrical vehicle) and reference architectures for autonomy developed in collaboration with industry (through several national projects).
  • Focus on the development and maintenance of integrated engineering environments, supporting the interactions between tools, engineers and projects in state-of-the-art development of Cyber-Physical Systems.
  • Help to provide funding for industrial experiments that will help industry develop innovative products, platforms and services in areas deemed to be of high importance as part of Open Calls ( www.cpse-labs.eu/calls.php ),
  • Design and coordinate professional training initiatives for CPSE-Labs.
