Ph.D. Education

The School of Computer Science and Communication is responsible for the doctoral programmes (third-cycle programmes) Mediated Communication and Computer Science.

Our subject areas are Computer Science, Speech and Music, Media Technology, Human-Computer Interaction and Sound and Music Computing, Biological physics and Physics at KTH.

We have also a shared department with Stockholm University in the subject area Computer Science as well as collaborations with Stockholm University of the Arts, KMH Royal College of Music and the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design.

Each of these PhD-subject areas is described in a general programme curriculum which defines prerequisites for admission and includes a description of the contents and structure of each study programme.

Director of doctoral studies

The Director of doctoral studies is responsible for the doctoral education. The main responsibilities are to guarantee the quality of the education, to be the contact person towards other schools at KTH and the KTH administration, and to care for the development and observation of rules and regulations.

Programme coordinators

Each doctoral programme at the School of Computer Science and Communication is run by a programme coordinator. The program managers responsibilities include leading the school's work with courses at the graduate level, to lead the operational work within the program,toghether with the Director of the doctoral studies prepare and develop the program's curriculum topic and in consultation with the Director of the doctoral studies manage the program's quality work.

Department of Numerical Analysis and Computer Science (NADA)

Nada is a joint department of Stockholm University and a part of the School of Computer Science and Communication (CSC) at KTH.
At Stockholm University,  Nada is a department within the Faculty of Science, Mathematics- Physics Section. Available research areas for doctoral studies are Computer Science.
