Short project facts

Funded by:  Horizon Europe
Time period: 2024-2028
Project members: AITIIP, moses, CSIC, ITA, University of Limerick, evoenzyme, Specific Polymers, CENTEXBEL, Éire Composites, KTH, incotec
Website: BLADE2CIRC

Background

BLADE2CIRC will develop a circular and greener alternative to traditional wind turbine blade designs. It will increase the share of high-performance bio-based composite materials with enhanced recyclability.

The role of Indek and KTH in the project, is to identify End-of-Life scenarios for new wind turbine blades and use system dynamics modelling to evaluate and compare different scenarios.

BLADE2CIRC is a Research and Innovation Action project with a duration of 42 months and 4,6M€, funded by the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe.
