I am associate professor in engineering education at the KTH Department of Learning. Research, development, and teacher training, on sustainability education, challenge-driven education, and sustainability transformations in and through education. Leading role in the revision and updating of the international engineering education framework CDIO with regards to sustainability and sustainable development. Co-creator and one of the coordinators of a new research group on sustainability education.
As deputy director of the KTH Global Development Hub, I am developing concepts and doing research on challenge-driven education and innovation, and supporting teachers at KTH and African partner universities in implementing such learning approaches. Hereby we are creating conditions for our students to collaborate with eachother and various external stakeholders in projects that are addressing the Sustainable Development Goals in the UN's 2030 Agenda.
Background as associate professor, PhD, and docent, in naval architecture at the KTH Centre for Naval Architecture. There I have for example been teaching and doing research on ship design, ship dynamics, ship structures, and high-speed craft. Have been building up and been the director of the KTH Master of Science Program in Naval Architecture. Founder and former director of the KTH Ship Dynamics Research Program with close collaboration with industry such as Wallenius Marine and authorities such as the Swedish Transport Agency, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, and UN's Shipping Authority IMO. Founding member and former coordinator of the International Ship Stability Research and Development Committee (SRDC). Still involved to some extent as teacher, supervisor, and advisor.
