New agreement with Institute of Physics

Published Feb 07, 2017

Since January we have a new agreement with the publisher Institute of Physics (IOP). This agreement gives you access to the package IOP Science Extra, containing 111 electronic journals in the subject of physics. It also contains an Open Access component.

This means that KTH gets back a large part of the money that have been used to publish Open Access articles by researchers at KTH. The amount is deducted from the license fee the following year. The rest of the fee is used to lower the fees globally.

This applies to Open Access publishing in IOP’s hybrid journals, nearly 50 titles. Visit  IOPscience for more information.

The offset model differs from Springer Compact in several ways and gives the universities the opportunity to compare and evaluate the two models.

For more information and questions about the agreement, contact Cecilia Heyman Widmark.
